Title: First outing...heading to Grand Canyon
Post by: austinado16 on Jul 24, 2007, 11:55 AM
Finally time for our first outing in the new-to-us '87 Starcraft Nova.  Heading to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and Mather Campground.

1 night in the campground, hiking down to the Bright Angel Campground the following morning.  Overnighting there, hiking out next morning, and then one more night in the PU in Mather before heading home.

Looking forward to it.  I've logged a lot of hours getting the PU back into shape (as some of you have probably read) and we've been training pretty hard for the hiking.

Any BTDT's?

Stayed 3 nights at Mather last August.  Nice campground. Didn't go below the rim so no advice to offer there, but anyway here are some pics from our trip:

Great photos Tom!  I remember seeing those a few months ago when we were talking about planning the trip.  Awesome!

'cept now I'm thinking........HOLY @!$% I'm hiking down into that!!!!!

Guess we better gear up for some rain too.  I've got an EZ-up, so your pics remind me how handy that'll be.
