It's just about industry standard that double (48 inch) bunks are rated 700 pounds minimum.

I have probably the Starcraft counterpart to your 8' Jayco. Mine is the 8' box, 48 X 80 bunks on both ends and according to my Starcraft literature ... "the bunk supports are engineered and tested to support up to 1,153 pound"

The couple I bought my Jayco from are both 300+

They never had any issues (even if they .. err .. nevermind)..

I'm over 300 and no problems (and have had an additional 200 on it with me).

My BF, Paul and I are pretty large people - and my camper is 35 yrs old.  We also generally have an 85 lb golden retreiver, "Fizzy"  trying to share the bed, too.

We prefer the rear bed, as then we don't have to climb over the table - but then Fizzy has a hard time trying to jump up (it's a tall wall)

But if we use the tongue / table end, Fizzy is mostly content to sleep on the table/bed.

Either way, we've never had any fear of tipping the camper or breaking the bed supports, even when, well -  ;)  anytime.

On my 1999 Coleman/Fleetwood the bunks are rated for 1000 pounds.  The newer campers have higher ratings.  To know for certain contact the manufacturer and ask them.:)
