Title: Recomendation for Campground, last week of March
Post by: High5Alive on Oct 09, 2007, 08:43 PM
We are looking for a recomendation for a campground for the last week in March.  We live in Chicago and would like to find a place where the weather is in the 60's or 70's.  We have three children under the age of eight.  We would prefer an electric site but like to be in the "wilderness" as much as possible.

Also, how soon would I need to make a reservation?

Thank you for your help.

It can be in the low 80s in late March in Florida. But overall anywhere in Florida during March and April are great. Florida has some very nice State Parks and Federal Parks that offer full hook ups. Check out Reserve America for various campground throughout Florida. That is a busy time for camping in Florida so dont wait 2 long. Happy Camping

I agree, either North Florida or South Georgia. Georgia also has great state parks.

I recommend some parks on Gulf Coast side south of AL.

Check out their state parks at http://www.floridastateparks.org/

If you like to be near the water, here are  a few:
1. Grayton Beach SP west of Panama City Beach but east of Destin.
2. St. Andrews SP in Panama City Beach would be in the midst of Spring Break otherwise, I'd recommend it.
3. St. Joseph Penninsula SPis south of Panama City but I hear is nice and secluded.
4. Henderson Beach SP in Destin is nice.

I like the drive thru AL better than thru GA.  seems to be less traffic  :D

All FL SP's can only be reseved thru reserve america.  I'd do it soon!
