Title: Biscuits/Gravy Breakfast
Post by: PattieAM on Oct 14, 2007, 07:12 AM
Cheater Style!!

Frozen biscuits from grocery store
Package of Gravy Mix

Prepare as directed on packages, allowing for the frozen biscuits to have thawed between purchase and use!  (Baking can be done with the Coleman Camp Stove Oven or if your PUP has one - the inside oven)

Nothing fancy - but tasty and filling - especially on a cool autumn morning.

Add HEB sausage crumbles and it's good.

I cheat also.

I order the biscuts fresh from our local Bel Air because they are so good (like Mom used to make from scratch) and pick them up the morning of the day we leave.  I purchase a large tube of Sausage and a bag of Lawrey's County Gravy Mix from Smart & Final.  It makes about a gallon of gravy and it's usually what I serve on Saturday mornings.  Everyone loves it and I always make it when we camp with the group.

I cheat also!! We make our biscuits ahead and reheat them at camp, but for the gravy, McCormicks makes an instant sausage gravy mix thats really good. I'm a Chef by trade and when I make my gravy fresh its to die for, so i'm really picky about using instant mixes, and the McCormick is really good...........Ed C. :sombraro:

I'm tickled to see responses as this forum or area is rather dead!  I would love to see a whole bunch of 'quick & easy' recipes for camping.

Come on folks - we gotta eat!
