This is my favorite low fat reciepe of all. Its very east to make and i eat it poured over toast with a nice salad. It can be made at camp very easily. Enjoy.......Ed C.
Chicken a la King
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. country crock margarine
4 cups sliced mushrooms
1 med. green pepper diced
1/4 cup diced green onions
1/3 cup flour
1 cup fat-free milk
1 cup chicken broth
3 tbsp sherry wine
2 tbsp. fat-free cream cheese
5 oz. small diced chicken breast
1/4 cup roasted red bell pepper diced, from a jar
1 tbsp. Tone's chicken base (available at Sam's Club)
Instructions:
Melt country crock margarine and saute mushrooms, onions, and green peppers till tender. Add flour and mix well. In a bowl mix chicken broth, milk and sherry wine. Gradually stir into mushroom mixture and simmer til thickens. Now add remaining ingredients and simmer 4 minutes and remove from heat and serve.
