Hi
Can anyone reccommend a good dutch oven cook book? I am not new to cooking in the D.O. but it would be nice to have a good resource to try some new recipes. thanks Ken
Irons in the Fire - PUX Cookbook (http://puxtradi.web.aplus.net/product_info.php?products_id=2654&osCsid=d96379775463b6e6d9f76f0f647410d5) at the PUX trading post has some great DO recipes.
The hardback version of Over the Open Fire (http://www.cookingtraininglibrary.com/15_cookbook.php) makes a nice coffeetable book. It's full of DO recipes with pictures.
If your DO has a convection cone in the middle of it, then you need the Ultimate Dutch Oven Cookbook (http://www.campchef.com/catalog/item/8/65/0/BK-UDO/27/Ultimate+Dutch+Oven+Cookbook.html) !
If you just want some recipes, try the free DO cookbooks floating around on the internet, mostly from BoyScout troops and their members!
The Dutch Oven Cookbook, by Troop 1577 (http://www.millennium-ark.net/News_Files/Food/DO.Cookbook.pdf) is great.
The Geezer Cookbook by Dwayne Pritchett (http://bsatroop10.org/Geezer.pdf) is amusing and good.
There are many other free internet DO cookbooks and recipes, just perform a Google, Yahoo, search.
There are lots of links at the www.idos.com (//%22http://www.idos.com%22) the web site of the International Dutch Oven Society. Yummy recipes from around the country.
