Title: Whats your age??
Post by: Jon Spencer on Feb 18, 2008, 10:36 AM
Just wanted to get an idea of the age group(s) that we're speaking with here. I am new to the thread and would like to know who are the groups in our age area.  My wife is 32 and I am 28.  We have two kids 1 1/2 and 2 1/2.

So why are we in the minority? As campers age, do they move to TTs and other RVs?

Pop ups rule!!

My wife and I are both 42.  DD is 15, and DS is 13.

We are all counting down to the day we pull the PUP out of storage this Spring!

I think that some of it has to do with comfort and convenience. In some rare cases, it may be, "keeping up with the Joneses".

We would move to the "Dark side" if we had room to store it. We live in an apt with subterranean parking and I have NO desire to put my camper in a storage yard somewhere.

Once we retire (5 more years) we will move to our home in Fallbrook, CA and get a small TT. It would be nice to be able to pull into a rest stop or a scenic area and have lunch in the camper. It would also be nice to pull into a CG and just go to bed, after a long day of driving, without the hassle of setting up.

The PU is great for what we are doing now but when we start taking longer trips, it just doesn't work as well.

I've already been the TT route. Down sizing has been my theme and I'm comfy right with the present size PU.

Before this gas price thing went haywire I was entertaining the idea of doing one of those small T@B campers and heading for the northwest and Alaska . Have instead gone over to the airline route for those distant places and staying in a cabin.

What's hard to beat with a small TT is being able to stop at a rest area and grab a couple of winks and maybe brew a pot of coffee. But on the other hand, my little Starcraft PU gets back into some (still) remote areas and we've had lots of enjoyment doing that. Choices and decisions ... but, then, that's part of the ejoyment of it all.

I'm in the later 30's, but if this thread pans out like I think, the largest faction will be the 55+.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  Please, I apologize for offending all of the age groups and ethnic groups not mentioned or falsly mentioned in the above statement.  This statement does not represent the opinions of Pop Up Times in any way, nor does it represent the opinions of any Pop Up Times employees or their sub contractors and/or families and/or close personal relationships in anyway.  All age groups, ethnic groups, both sexes, and all groups not mentioned are all equal, and camping adequate in all ways.  Blah, blah, blahblah...
