Title: Usery Mountain Regional Park
Post by: AZsix on Feb 22, 2008, 05:53 PM
Has anyone camped there before? Looking at the website it seems it may be worth a try. If no one has camped there has anyone ever been there to hike?

Thanks

Never camped there but have hiked Wind Cave and Pass Mountain. There are trails all over the place out there.
Wind Cave is a fairly good climb, 1 1/2 miles or something like that, it's been a few years since I lived down there. Great views from the cave.
Pass Mountain is long, 7+ miles, dessert, cactus, rocks. not too much elevation change, dessert.
Have Fun

Gary,

Have hiked Usery Mountain park many times but have not camped there. There are some locals who have taken their maiden voyage there and said everything was fine, large sites etc. You can do a google earth and see the campground loops. On March 29 they are hosting "Stargazing for Everyone." It is a pretty interesting lesson on the planets and stars. We have been to several at Lake Pleasant and really enjoy the people and all the different telescopes they bring for you to look through. They also cater to children and groups. It was quite interesting for our eight yr old daughter and ourselves.

Hope this helps.
