Okay, I have been reading about bike racks and such. But, not sure how to handle my problem.
I have a Coleman Utah (2003) (way bigger than my last popup). How can I go ahead and figure on taking 8 bikes with us. I am pulling with a 2007 Ford Expedition EL with the heavy duty towing package. I got this package on purpose because I would rather have too much truck than not enough. So, do I put some bikes on front and some bikes on back to level it out. Or, just try for 2 separate racks on top of the camper, one in front of the AC and on on back. Or, do I leave all the kids at home? 6 of them!

You best bet would be to put 4 on top of the PU and 4 on top of the TV. :yikes:
But thats just me :sombraro:
get 2 four-man bikes or 4 two-man bikes.
Are the bikes all adult or some children's, too?
you could put the bikes in the truck and strap the kids to the top of the camper...... :yikes:

How about a 4 place rack that slides into recvr on truck, and has a 3' , 2" tube with a tongue weight of 500lbs. Thats right has hole to install ball and still tow your trailer. Then you can put 4 on bike rack on top of camper. The said bike rack believe was purchased a K-mart, and I saw them at target also. Can't tell you the name as it's in the garage and I'm dressed for bed. Believe its a reese. Could also check ebay. Oh yeah the thing also tilts awy from truck so you can get in.
Does that PU have the ABS roof? I think you will find posts around about not fooling with that type of roof. I'd seriously think about getting all 8 on the roof of the Expedition. I'm pretty sure it can be done with 3 crossbars, with all 8 rear wheels on the center crossbar.
Another idea I'm considering is a front hitch mount and putting a few smaller bikes up there.
Let us know what you come up with.
