Has anyone camped here? http://www.maricopa.gov/parks/cave_creek/ They have hook ups, bathrooms/showers and a dump station. They also have planned activities that would be great for the kids. It may be a little warm during the day this time of year but the nights would be fantastic! We are thinking about going next weekend.

Make sure you call ahead to check for available space. Each site has a picnic table (not covered) and firepit. Most have hookups. Restrooms and showers were nearby. The trails were good. The hosts when we very helpful and nice.

It does help. If you look at the website it has things planned for next Friday night and Saturday morning that I know our kids would love. What are you guys doing next weekend? I always call ahead. I'm hoping with the warmer weather more people would head up into the mountains. We wanted to do the same but my wife has a memorial service to attend next Sunday at noon so we don't want to go too far. The main reason I picked this place was because of the programs that they have planned next weekend.
In case anyone is interested, I just got off the phone with Cave Creek RP and they told me that they are not filling up 100%. As of !:40 on a Saturday afternoon they still had 6 sites available. They have two programs scheduled next weekend that my kids would love so we are planning on going up on Friday evening.
