Title: Barstow/Calico KOA
Post by: dkutz on Jun 11, 2008, 10:12 PM
We stayed at the Barstow/Calico KOA during spring Break 08.  We had a lot of fun.  The campground was very clean, bathrooms clean with free showers, campsites cleaned after every use.  Amenities include full hookups available, pool, game room (pool, ping pong, foosball, video games all free.) , bicycle rentals, meeting room, with TV.  The staff was very nice and helpful.  They also had activities almost everyday.  From an ice cream social, to a pancake breakfast.

We brought an RC car for the boys to play with, and I also brought model rockets to launch in the desert.  We used the pool, that we were told was heated, although it was VERY cold, so I would hate to feel it when its not heated.  We rented the bikes one day and of course spent one day at Calico.  We also went to the nearby 50's diner, (twice) and outlet shopping.

We had site #55, with W/E hookup.  We liked the site because it was surrounded by trees/bushes on three sides, so even when it got windy, we were shielded fromt he wind.

We would go back again, it was a nice place.  And after seeing the Calico campground, would choose the KOA in a heartbeat.  I included pictures of the Calico Campground.

I posted some pictures...

Certain parts of that CG allows Dirtbikes too. Always a plus.

There is a gate to the Dez in the back of the CG.  People were going out with there bikes from there....
