:) Hi All,
Dan and I are planning to camp at Campland By the Bay Dec. 30 - Jan. 2 (Tues. - Fri.). IF we get enough interest, I will wagonmaster this so we can get a group rate. I need 10 commitments and it's a go. Otherwise, we're camping anyways and we'll make it a self serve. Group rate is in the mid-30's and self serve is approx. $70/nt. I'm at a training all week. I'll have Wifi that I can check at night. IF you are interested in being committed (sorry - I crack myself up), post here. Depending on the outcome, I'll call Campland next Sat. once I'm home and see what we can do. My intention is to get the H Loop. BUT, the C loop (no sewer) is my second choice. It's next to the all new playground.

of course he is.I carry a big stick ;) unfortunetly it's not hard to outrun someone with a walker :p
hope we get enough for group rates..got Hospital bill today..(not counting surgeon & Mr. sandman Dr.) are you sitting down?....just over $59,000.00 of course the insurance compay will knock some of that down....we will probably still have to come up with 10-15 grand :banghead: :% from where I don't know
Maybe someone wants to buy one of my kids? ;)

I called today and the group office wasn't open (even though it said it was??), so I left a detailed message - I hope to hear back from them tomorrow and will call them in any case. I plan to reserve the H loop (where we always stay) IF it is available. I am also looking at the I loop - it looks GREAT, but not sure if they allow fires there. (anyone know?)
By my count, I have 11 sites pretty solid and 3 more maybes. I will shoot for 14 sites. If I can get them, this will be a non-refundable rally - in other words, if you should have to cancel, you are responsible for the site payment and will have to "sell" your site yourself to someone on the waiting list IF you cancel after the final due date. If you are not paid by the due date, I just drop the site for that person (but we'll keep 10 no matter what). After I talk to the campground and figure out the deposit I have to pay and when I have to have payment to them w/out penalty, I will post the due date for money.
I've done the math and even if we end up needing only 8 sites, we'll keep 10 - it's cheaper to split 2 empty sites 8 ways on the group rate than it is to book 8 sites individually. Make sense? Woohoo - got ourselves a rally!

Not only will Campland NOT give us a group rate over New Year's...they are basically booked and have hardly any spots left. Rally cancelled....

I can do this - we can get a block of sites (the same sites we had at 103 @ Canyon RV last Labor Day) held for our group and then it is up to everyone to call and book their own sites. Canyon does not issue a group rate, but they will hold a block for us for a week while we call and book individually. ($45 per night approx.)

The last time I was there it was too cold and windy and I stayed in the trailer and read and we left early..But we might be game again.
