I'm starting to think that you're right. Our Fallbrook home is at the top of a hill with thousands of trees all around us. It's really beautiful if it's not on fire......

I'm just starting to wonder if it will still be there when we retire  :( .  Last year, we had a fire to the east of us, today we have a fire on the West of us (Camp Pendleton). I'm getting a little tired of worrying about it.

I am surprised your retirement home isn't near the beach!!  Time to sell and move!

We can ALMOST see the ocean from there. If we were just a little higher we would. It's a 20 minute drive to Oceanside :sombraro: .

Yeah but you love the ocean sooo much, I would think you would want a place right on the beach!

Now a fire has broken out just to the north 1/2 mile from our home...but the wind is going west...so we should be fine.

Why can't I find anything on the news websites about a fire in Rancho Bernardo? It's sad, we have better news coverage on this camping website...
