Title: Recommendations for Highlands Games in July
Post by: Birbeck on Mar 24, 2009, 07:35 PM
We are planning a week in or new Grandfather Mountain for the Highland Games in July 2009.

Any suggestions for the event or places to stay?

We are just a couple - so fewer children is OK with us.  I'd rather be quiet and further from the action.

Thanks in advance!

Check out the Julian Price Park on the parkway - just a few miles from the Grandfather Mountain exit. Just a few more miles south is Linville Falls - several great campgrounds there as well including this site.

Julian Price is a great campground on the Parkway. But if you want hookups, use Grandfather Mountain Campground RV Park in only 5 miles N.of Highland Games site, plus its close to Boone with lots to see and do.Have been to the games, its a great weekend and good area to visit.................enjoy

also, theres a park in Linville falls, which is close also.If you go to:BooneNC wbsite, they are all listed there...........have fun
