We have had our pop up for about 3 years now and after tenting for many years we have never looked back with regret. We love our pop up and even sold our boat because it was better to obtain a campsite and rent a boat from where ever we stay. We are looking at taking our first vacation in the pop up and looking to go to the Lookout Mountain Area. We found the KOA West to be ok I guess but you never know until you get there. Many of the state parks in Tennessee do not take advanced reservations it appears. Only the Federal and Private ones showed up on the "Reserve America" website. If anyone has stayed at this KOA or if anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Most all of our camping trips so far have only been for 2 or 3 days this time we are headed out for 10 days.
Also other than repacking my bearings for such a trip does anyone have any additional suggestions. We are coming from Tampa, Florida. We will be hitting the Orlando area (have to do Ft. Wilderness and the Disney thing for a couple of days with the kids) then we are heading north to Chattanooga, TN.

Welcome from a fellow tampania....we loved cloudland canyon and red top mountain state in georgia ....

Cloudland Canyon is close to Chattanooga - might be an option for you. Also look at Chester Frost. (I think maybe it's a county park, or something but I don't think they take reservations, either).
Thank you, I think we are going to try Cloudland Canyan. I looked it up in Frommers and also found a website were we can reserve a site. I appreciate the responses from everyone its a great help.
