Post by: A2SuperCrew on Jun 11, 2009, 10:08 AM
Has anyone been to Warren Dunes State Park over on Lake Michigan?

We stopped there last May (2008) on our way from Ypsilanti to Chicago.  It is a neat park, but we did not camp there.  We did drive through the campground.  The sites looked a bit small and close together, but level and reasonably shady.  I don't recall if they had any sites with electric.  I don't think there is water at any of the sites.  Plenty of tenters and popups.

The lake is amazing, as are the dunes.

Thanks for the feedback!  We reserved a spot in the primative section of the campground where it appears the sites are more spacious.

From one Jeeper to another:   ((((((WAVE)))))))  :D

Anyone else been there, and have any info?

Thanks!

Nice park, probably the busiest in the state.  Great beach and dunes, snack shop, etc.  About 45 minutes north of Warren Dunes is Van Buren State Park.  Smaller, less crowded.  Smaller beach but very nice.
