Hi everyone,
Carol sent me an e-mail last night and asked me to pass this along
[COLOR="Blue"]I just wanted to let you know what has been going on for the last few days.....First off Jim is in the Hospital he has an irregular heart beat/atrial fibrillation and Congestive Heart Failure they have put him on Coumadin ( to thin his blood ) and because this med does not work well with his diabetic oral med he now is having to use insulin to control his blood sugars. Now for some good news they feel they have caught it early enough and if he does everything he is suppose to do he'll make it for another 20 years give or take. First and foremost he must lose weight no surprise here.........It will take the doctors a few months to get him stable so our trip to Smithwood is a NO GO.......We are hoping we'll make the Sept. beach trips and the Halloween camp-out for sure.
The most important thing is to get him better so remember so add him to your prayers! [/COLOR]

Jim, hard as it seems, do what the doctors tell you and you'll be full of spit and vinegar in no time.

Thank-you everyone for your well wishes about Jim he is still in the hospital his heart just keeps jumping around and doesn't seem to stay settled down. I was supposed to get him tonight but when I got there they had him all hooked up again and he gets to stay. His heart is only working at 28 o/o... the heart specialist keeps telling me if he gets his weight down and follows all the rules he'll still be able to have a good life......If not then he's looking at a STROKE.
This news has him pretty scared so I think he'll be good......
Somebody take Wayne up on his bet because we are not able to go to Smithwoods for sure.......Maybe next year...I'm not taking any chances on his health After almost 40 years together I've gotten used to having him in my life. Well Happy 4th to everyone and enjoy the Fireworks maybe I'll go out in the back yard and watch them from the fairgrounds and our local park....

Sounds like a plan to us! We are up for it next weekend...I wanted to get the trailer out to the beach, but the knee is not cooperating like I hoped it would be and taking longer to get from one place to another. Brad catches me all the time!:D

Thank You everyone I do know if WE needed you each one of you would come to our aid.......Jim came home yesterday and now we start the road to getting him back on his feet.......It'll be a track back and forth to Dr's for awhile I'm afraid. Right now he is Pretty Weak and gets out of breath fast soon I hope these meds they have given him start their Magic.....( along with weight loss )

Heather and I just read the news. Our thoughts and prayers are with you along with everybody else. We know all too well the fun of dealing with health problems and pray that all the steps to recovery go well and speedy. We also are available at the drop of a hat if you need anything. Carol please don't put yourself out of commision by overdoing it while nursing Jim. Its easy to do. I just read the news. Stay home, do as the doc says and many more campout are on the horizon. Our prayers and thoughts are with you both. I liked the previous idea of a rally at your place, just say the word and we are there....:):):), sorry, you know how it is, any excuse to "CAMP". Remember, Bob and I are both in Bakersfield...not to far from you...if you need anything.

So far Jim is doing pretty well and is really working on his weight loss by the time you see him next I think you'll see a difference......Next week will tell more that's when the Doc is going to start letting him do a little more like walk in the pool and drive,,,,,His blood sugar is still hanging higher then it should be but hopefully that'll soon be in the normal range....
He's really getting a big case of house bound fever........
Thank-you for asking about him and keeping Jim in your prayers with God's help and Jim 's good job of following the plan he'll be up and going soon and we'll be back camping again.......We are targeting the Sept camp-outs......However the most important thing is to get him as strong as possible and keeping him around for a looooooong long time......carol
Carol, make sure he listens to "DOC", he's the boss. Glad things are on the road towards future camping...

Another up-date on Jim he is doing well on his new meds and getting his blood work done every Monday morning......He went back to the pool on Monday and walked only......He did well but does get tired fast.....today he did a little around the yard and had to stop and catch his breath.( but maybe that was just the heat....110 today) It's so hard for me to see him working so hard to do little things and get so tired doing them. Right now it's a wait and see game and we have high hopes he'll be up to camping by Sept. We'll just take each day as it comes....Again thanks to everyone for the prayers sent his way and the calls reaching out to me it really helps to have so many great friends.....Carol

Jim is doing much better thanks to everyone's prayers he has lost 45 lbs now and his spirits are high. We hope he will have many many years left and I'm sure he will if he keeps up this good work on his health.....Thank you very much for asking about him.
