Title: Still Looking.....
Post by: cjpoppin on Jul 19, 2009, 06:38 PM
We went on our nightly walk last night and saw a family out in the desert and the thought came to me to ask them if they were looking for a Geo site and sure enough they were.......They said they had already found one up the road and now were looking for this one.....When we left after sitting on a rock watching them for awhile they still hadn't found this one. Not sure they will due to the fact the area had lots of new growth it could be under one of the bushes never to be found again......It did look like fun and the kids were having a ball........

http://www.geocaching.com (//%22http://www.geocaching.com/%22)

We have not done any yet this year, but DW was getting antsy today.  Then some unsavory clouds and weather moved in today for some much needed rain.  Fast, but enough to get in the roots.

Perhaps next time.

We use our garmin nuvi frm the car.  It works well enough for 'cahing in off-road mode.  Accuracy down to 15 feet.

Though I have a GPS I very seldom use it for geocaching. I do use my compass and can find targets several miles away, Targets range from caves graves, springs ruins and bench marks. Pretty cool when I find one labeled 1902 Arizona Territory.
