I am off to Bridgeport Ca. Camping tomorrow, Camping at Paha. Jacqui and the kids will be Joining me Friday. I get a day and a half of fishing alone!
Fish fear me, chicks dig me!
We're heading up to the Valley of the Rogue for the three day weekend. Hoping to catch a steelhead or a salmon, but who knows as I suck at fishing. It's a super nice campground on the Rogue River with power and water at each site and easy to walk to grey water holes. Lots of Grass and get this, . . . . Freeeeeeeeeeeee showers. All for $20 a night. I may move to Oregon soon.

I will bring your phone numbers with me Wayne (does your cell phone work in town?). Randy left at 7am this morning and the boys and I are headed out Friday afternoon. Now that Chris is in 8th grade it is getting too hard to take him out of school. I am so ready to go.

I got it. Randy said smoke is pretty thick from the fire in Yosemite. You can't even see the mountains.

We are back from our escaped. The weather was wonderful. 70's during the day and 40's at night. Fishing wasn't the best but the campground was really nice. There were quite a few sites where the people never showed up.
The worst part of the trip was coming home. We took the 88/89 there. Very nice road until you had to come down the mountain (monitor Pass). If you have no trailer brakes this is not the route for you. Randy white knuckled it all the way down but man once you were down you were only 40 miles from Bridgeport. He said he would probably go that way again but there is no way our truck would pull the trailer up the hill. Soooo, we decided to take hwy 50 home. Not a bad route either except for all the other people that decided to go that way. It took us about 2 hours to go from downtown Tahoe to Pollock Pines. It was horrible. I think we have decided that if we go to the Eastern Sierras again that we will either leave a day early or a day late.
Wayne (Wavery) it was sure great seeing you and Caroline. You hsven't changed a bit:p. I really enjoyed meeting your family and watching the Melodrama. It was really fun. You can tell they worked really hard on it.
Hopefully, we can get some people to go with us next time. It is always more fun with friends.

Good News:
Camping in Oregon was wonderful. Warm (except for a little rain that didn't bother anyone). Relaxing. One of the best steak dinners and campfires yet. Good fishing places; no sales tax. Good times.
Bad News:
Only 2 little fish for me. Better than 0 I guess.
We're gonna have to make the next get-together. Mrs. JP, aka CJ (for those of you keeping score at home that means little ones are TR and TJ) has a work trip the weekend of your 49er campout. We'll have to do the next one.

We're back too........traffic wasn't bad coming home.
It sure was fun seeing you and Randy again. I'm so glad that you made it to the play. It's always lots of fun and it's a really big deal to that small town when lots of people show up.

Now the screen name makes sense. How little are the kids? Is it possible to do it on your own with a little help? Most of us have little ones. They range in age from 18 months up to 16. But if it is too much we understand and hopefully, will meet up at another campout.

Our "little ones" are 13 and almost 16 (yikes!!! where did the time go????) We have a tradition of seeing the Mrs. off on business trips so this trip isnt gonna work for us, but I'll keep our collective ears to the ground and make the next one. We're excited to hang with folks who like camping as much as I do.

Sounds good. I have a soon to be 14 year old son that would be thrilled to have someone his age to hang out with. My 18 year old daughter comes sometimes but has decided she enjoys an empty house than a full trailer:p
Did you see the Collins Lake campout?
