Looking at the following product tufoil (//%22http://www.tufoil.com/cars.html%22) does anyone use something like this ? does it work ? Pros and cons of using it ?

Popular Mechanics ran an article on these additives some time back. Their conclusion....none of these showed any significant improvement in mileage, horsepower, performance, etc.
However, they did recommend using synthetic motor oil due to its ability to maintain its lubrication qualities at higher temperatures, over longer periods of time, and in high-stress applications. (Like towing.)
As with all things of this nature, YMMV.
Their demonstrations can be so compelling. I once saw a demo by Wynn's at a local Ford dealership. They had a 4-cyl. engine mounted on an engine stand just outside the showroom. They supposedly had put Wynn's Extend (I think that was the product name) in the crankcase and run it for a short while, then drained all the oil out of it.
They had the engine idling there in the parking lot with no oil pan on it. You could see the bottom of the crank as it was running. It probably ran 6 or 8 hours that day. I don't know how that works, but it sure was convincing. I never did try the product, though, or any other product like that. I use Mobile 1 in our vehicles, though.
Regardless of how it worked, I'm sure they sold some product as a result of those demonstrations.

I agree with old goat..........save your $.
I run all synthetic fluids including motor oil.
The biggest reason that I like synthetics better is because of their ability to dissipate heat much faster than petrol oils. They are also not effected as badly by contaminates that turn to acids in petrol oil.
General rule of thumb.........any ad that claims to give you more HP and better fuel economy from a chemical additive....steer clear. It's just flat false advertising.

There is nothing better for your engine than frequently changing your oil.
There is no such thing as a "miracle in a bottle". This product sounds like Slick50 from the late '80's lol.
HOWEVER having said that, I can attest to four products that come in a bottle that DO work. As you can tell by my name here, as a hobby I buy and sell police cars, govt. vehicles, etc. Some are beat to death.

I have seen engines that burned oil, used oil, low compression, rough idle, blue smoke, etc. and within 500 miles they were on the mend. By the second oil change with Restore added, they were 90 - 100% fixed. Not a typo.

Add this to your gas and oil if you'd like. It's been around like 100 years, and it does what it says. It can really quiet a loud / ticking valvetrain quite well. This is primarily used for older carburetor engines or beat up newer engines.

Add this to your gas every 3,000 miles. This is as close to "miracle in a bottle" as you'll get. What a difference in power, engine smoothness, increased mpg's. I swear by this stuff. I had a snowblower engine that simply would not run at anything but full throttle. No idle, nadda. I put a capful of Techron in and within 5 minutes it ran like new. I use this in all my vehicles.

It works for radiator / cooling system leaks. Back in high school my friends car blew a head gasket and we put in a few bottles of this and it fixed the head gasket leak for almost 15,000 miles lol. I keep a bottle of this in the trunk of each of my vehicles, it has gotten me home on more than one occasion. On one camping trip I had a rock thrown into my radiator and it sealed the leak for me to get home.

Hey fallsrider, I saw that demo too, WAAAAAY back when! I was amazed seeing the crank spinning and the connecting rods whizzing with
no oil pan on. The one I saw the guy even got a garden hose and sprayed water on the crank while it was spinning!

Yes, it was a few years ago...in 1989, I think. It's hard to believe that was 21 years ago!!
