Title: power converter
Post by: mailman on May 09, 2010, 01:46 PM
I disconnected the aux battery to store my camper.  I didn't pay attention to which wire went on what.  When I reconnected it the other day it blew a fuse.  No problem I changed out the fuse, but that didn't work.  The AC power is working but no 12 Volt is working.  The power converter is making a ticking noise and the cooling fan is not working.  Any ideas?  Did it fry the converter?  How hard is to switch it out and how expensive?  It is a 2001 Dutchman 1205D  pop up camper.  Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Depending on the converter, some have a fuse inside!

Best Coverter sells 'em (//%22http://www.bestconverter.com%22), ebay etc ~70-$150.

Thanks for the advice Coach. You were right it did have another fuse inside.  It was fine but after looking more closely one of my other fuses was blown so it was a cheap fix!! Yeah!!
