Title: "Newbie"?
Post by: toomanytents on Dec 18, 2022, 02:27 PM
What do I have to do to no longer be a "newbie"?
I've been on Dean's PopUpExplorer for almost 20 years and somewhere around #20 in terms of posts.  I've been on this forum since Dean bought it.  Newbie?

Have no idea how he has this set-up, I think everyone is a Newbie in here right now!! Not much action in here, about as dead as the Pux/Hyx/Itch board....

LOL "newbie"! You've been here since the beginning of time I think. Looked you up on PUX. You joined in Nov of 2003 and have almost 6,000 posts there.
Has me listed as Sr. Member? Not sure what all the yellow boxes mean either. Don't think I've posted 300+ times since Dean started Pop Up Times again either.

Sorry for not seeing this earlier, My shop was swamped over christmas, today promises to be pretty slow as it's too late to ship packages and get them there for christmas.

I have not done much in the way of customization on this software used for the forum. I will have to look into those titles, as I recall, on PUX it may have had to do with the number of posts but it's been a long time since I have played with those.

Looking at the "members list" and clicking on posts, almost everyone is a "Newbie" including top post count "tlhdoc" who has over 11,000 posts. Not sure why a select few (including myself) are something other than newbie....

Maybe because I'm on the moderator list, but I noticed Waverly is also not a "Newbie" nor is he a Mod. Don't understand what goes on there, perhaps it is magic....

I need to come up with different group names like we did on PUX. I changed the newbie group to "Check-it-outer" and added a new group called "Casual Camper" that requires at least one post.

Currently the group names are as follows:
Check-it-outer 0 posts
Casual Camper 1 post
Jr Member  50 posts
Full Member 100 posts
Sr Member 250 posts
Hero Member 500 posts

I'm open to suggestions for better names.
