Title: Planning the southward trek...
Post by: GoneCamping on Jul 16, 2023, 08:48 PM
Made a flurry of reservations the other day, all but one of them are at Thousand Trails parks (gotta love that $0.00 per night fee!!). Will leave Maine on October 11th for a week in Sturbridge Mass, then spend 2 nights at Lums Pond State Park in northern Delaware, then just over a week in Williamsburg Va, followed by one night in Yemassee SC, and arriving at 3 Flags in Wildwood FL by October 30th. And from there 3 weeks at TTO (Thousand Trails Orlando). By the end of the month I should be booked through the end of the year.

No job lined up yet, if the right position falls into my lap that's ok, but now that I have a Diesel I no longer need to work, so maybe I'll re-retire this winter, who knows!!

Dang Cliff, already having to reserve the fall trip south, huh? Hope there aren't any early snow storms up north.
WORK is still a 4 letter word.  :)

I can live off the Social Security, I can live very well with combined income from working!! However, my primary focus for working this past 2 summers were to be able to buy a Diesel truck, and that part is done. So I don't actually need to work now, but thinking if I can keep this up another year, maybe I can upgrade the 5th wheel as well. I just don't know how much longer I can keep this up, I'm getting too old to do a lot of the stuff I'm being asked to do. At the same time, I fear a life of sitting in a rocking chair waiting to kick the bucket.

I hear you! Retirement ain't what I wanted it to be. But I'm not ready to sit in a rocking chair yet!
