Title: keys
Post by: rtyler on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
We are considering summer vacation in the keys this year.  Can anyone suggest good campgrounds or ones to avoid.  Kids are 12 and 8 yrs old.  We really want to snorkel and do some fising.

rtylerHi, For me and my family there is no nicer Keys campground than Long Key State Park, we also like Bahia Honda. BH is closer to Key West if you want to check out that scene. Check out http://www.funandsun.com/parks/maps/parkmap.html.

 Happy Camping

rtylerOutdoor world in Key largo is pretty nice.  It can be a bit crouded but the trees between the sites are very, very lush.  Go for the Oceanview.  Just stay away from the first sites near the marina,  try to go further away. You can swim and rent boats. It also is a fishing area.   Very Close to PenniKamp for  Awsome snorkling/diving.  This park is more lush than pennicamps.

MelissaGThanks for the advice, I couldn t find any thing on Outdoor World in the keys, perhaps it is America Outdoors, that web site sounded like what you described.  I think we will go with that.  Thanks again for the advice, I am always concerned when we go somewhere new, but I knew I could count on other pop- upers.
