I purchased a Paha Que screen room through PUTs last week.  With all the snow and the small size of our house I couldn t set it up right a way.  Thursday at scouts I took it along and we set it up.  That thing is GREAT.  Very easy to set up, the sleeves where the roof poles go are big enough that they slip right through.   The poles are shock corded and they slip right together.  The leg poles attach with no problem and that is about all there is too it.  I think the screening is finer than that on the PU.  I don t see any bugs getting through it.  The awnings on all four sides velcro in spots  along the bottom to hold the awnings down.  You can also tie the corners of the awnings to each other if it is very windy or raining.  The sides will stay closed tight.  The cords that come with it to tie it down have clips on the ends so you don t have to tie it to the screen room each time, just clip it on.  The screen room is free standing, but Paha Que recommends using at least a few cords and stakes to secure it in case it becomes windy.  You can put the four awnings out and have shade on all 4 sides or you can roll them up.  There are elastic loops and plastic pegs that make it simple to keep the sides rolled up.  The zippers are all metal.  The screen doors have an upside down T zipper set up.  One zipper comes down the center and then there are two zippers that go along the bottom from the center to the sides.   If you want the screen doors held open they attach to the sides of the screen room with an elastic cord that simply hooks to the side of the screen room.  I looked at the seams to check out the sewing and the stitches were all uniform and the seams are straight.  This screen room is so much nicer that the one I bought a few years ago, and quit using.  It also has a life time warranty.

I posted some photos of the screen room at my community webshots page.  Click on the link below to see the photo s.

tlhdocI have been drooling over those since I saw them in the PUT store!  Which size did you get?  Right now we have a 12x12 Eddie Bauer from Target which does not do a lot to keep things dry, unless they are in the very center.

Now I just need to convince DH we need one & hope the store doesn t stop offering the deal to members before I get the ok![;)]

tlhdocI got the 10 X 12.  With the straight sides it is bigger than a lot of the other screen houses I have looked at.  I debated on which side and decided the 12 X 12 may not fit on as many camp sites.  I hope you get one they are very, very nice.

[font=" Comic Sans MS" ]Congratulations, Tracy, and thank you for the great practical detail about the screen house.  Many thanks as well for the pictures, which provide a much better view of the screen house than the Paha Que website!
Can you give me an idea about how much the screen house weighs in its bag?
And what are your thoughts regarding the optional floor?

 tlhdocHi Christyn,

The shipping sticker on the box says the room and one set of extra awning poles weigh 26 pounds.  I am guessing the box weighs a pound or two.  I thought about the floor and the rain fly for the screen room.  I decided against the floor because it is easier to clean up spills and crumbs by just letting them soak into the ground. [:D] I will see if I need the rain fly or not.  I sealed the seams in the roof, and according to a man at Paha Que that I talked to, if you seal the seams the roof will be waterproof.  You don t need the rain fly.
