Ok, I ve been to several sites and have seen two types of bunk-end fan / light combos.  One is called the Fan-T-See and the other is just a Fan Light combo.  The Fan-T-See is about half the price of the other fan/light.  Are there any big differences I should look for before I buy the wrong one?

Gamecock CamperThe one we have is neither of those, but...

The light is too dim to use as anything but a nightlight.

The fan is NOISY and doesn t move a lot of air.

Neither the fan nor the light will stay where they are pointed.

Make sure you try before you buy.

Gamecock CamperI m not sure which ones we have or if we have either of those brands. I purchased them on ebay two years ago and we love them. We face them so one pulls in air while the other pushes it out. They have a high and low setting and work very well at keeping the air circulating. Both my son and I use them for reading in our bunks at night. The light is more than adequate on the ones we have.

We also received one when we purchased the Utah and that one hangs in the dinette.

Gamecock Camperaustin, we have the same one! we went out and bought a cheap clip on fan at walmart and clip it to the support bar, and a 12volt table top fan for dry camping, from camping world now those work!

Gamecock CamperI have 2 of the Fan Light combos and I like them.  I looked at the Fan-T-See lights and didn t like them.  They selll the Fan Light combos here at PUT, again.

Gamecock CamperWe have a fan light combo that came with the Flagstaff.  We are generally pleased with it.  The fan works fairly well, although a little noisy for me, but with those tiny blades it has to turn pretty darn fast to move any air, and that in itself tends to make it noisy.

The light is generally too bright for most of our desired uses.  We use the light each evening, but it is our only source of light that doesn t shine directly into one of the bunks.  We turn it upside down, so the light points toward the roof, and then turn it on to act as a slightly dimmer light than the over heads, and that way it doesn t shine down on the baby so bright, and we can get her to sleep, or keep her asleep etc.  However, the older kids on the other bunk complain, because it is still really too bright for their bed.

We like having it in summer to help move more cool air onto the bunkend, and in the winter for blowing some of the furnace, inferno heated, air toward the other end of the camper.  The light works OK for our purposes, but a milder, less bright light would be even better.

They used to sell the Fan Light combos here at PUT.

They re back in the store now.  We bought two fan/light combos from PUT and they are excatly the same as the ones the Coleman dealers sell, but for a while lot less.  They re great and I would recommend those without hesitation (the ones from PUT, not the dealers, in case I wasn t clear).  [:D]

You could put a lower wattage bulb in the light.

Gamecock CamperOk, I just bit the bullet and ordered the fan/light combo from the PUT store.  I ll add my comments to this Product Review section after I try it out.

Gamecock CamperI believe we have one of the Fan-T-See fan/lights.  We got it as a gift from my parents.  Unfortunately we have not been happy with how it works.  The fan is kind of wimpy & it tends to move around on it s own -so it changes directions when we don t want it to.  The light is fairly wimpy as well.

The fan/light is just like the one I purchased from Coleman for about $15.00 more.  Only difference is the clips, they are black on the coleman and white on the PUT fan/light.  Works Great.
