i need to up grade my cooler situation.is there a rating system ?what MFGR is everyone having the best luck with?metal or plastic?
  the current coolers i have are not cutting it.they are good for overnight but that about it.any suggestions?

We love our Coleman Extreme. I believe Igloo makes a version of this too.
