Opinions on Skamper by Thor?

I'm still looking for a used Pop-Up, and was wondering about the brand Skamper Sport 17B by Thor industries (1999).  After looking in NADA, it seems this company has been sold quite a few times.  This has me wondering about quality.

There are a lot of stories, some of them true, some not, about Thor's quality. They also made Dutchmen, and others I can't remember.

I have no personal experience with Thor products. However, I have read a lot more bad about Thor quality, than good. OTOH, we have someone in our Tennessee group who recently sold (for a hybrid) their Dutchmen popup, and it was great for them. I even discussed quality issues, and they really liked theirs.

Go over the unit with a fine-toothed comb. Even the faucet/toilet/stove/etc. Get on your hands and knees and look for a reason not to buy the unit. In other words, play devil's advocate. Some people take a friend with them, to help them point out defects that your tunnel vision might not see.
