68db at half load is far from "Quiet". The Honda is 59db @ full load and 53db @ 1/4 load. Of course, it's a lot more expensive too.

I just didn't want you to get conned by that advertising, that it is a "Quiet" generator. It isn't.

Thanks and glad you read the fine print. I didn't even notice it said at half load for the 68db. The old adage "You get what you pay for." once again is implemented here.

The same seller is offering this one:

The advertised ratings are a lot better. I know nothing about the thing though.

We had my "super quiet" propane generator fired up last week.  It is about the same DC range like 67 to 69.

We could hold a conversation over it, NOT hollering at each other, but we did have to speak a little louder than normal. This is a 3500 watt generator, with an electric start. Did get it on ebay.

One of the guys at the PUX Watkins Glen NY Rally in June had a Kipor, that puppy was QUIET, but he paid a whole lot more that I did.

my problem with these darn things is how much they weigh

sure DH can put it in the truck for me, but it won't work well from inside the TV :eyecrazy:  basically I can't use it until I find someone who can move it for me. 50 lbs is about my limit

Dee,

The EU2000i weighs a mere 47#. If you need more power (4000W) you can hook 2 together but still move 1 at a time :sombraro: . Heck, Brian or I could move 'em for ya :p .

I've got the Honda eu2000i & can get it in & out of the trailer if I "plan" carefully.  I don't haul it far, so it's manageable.  You can try lifting mine next time we dry camp.  I love it!
