We had a lot of problems with our AAR this year. (Guess we're wearing it out! LOL) One of the problems was the zipper that began opening at the top middle and bottom & didn't want to zip/unzip anymore. I cleaned everything out of it and squeezed the zipper a bit to no avail. Not wanting to have the entire zipper replaced, I gave the PUT stuff a chance as a final chance to fix it. Well, it worked! The zipper holds fine, top to bottom, no more binding and no more opening. On a scale of 1-10, this one's a 12!

That's good to know!  We bought some a long time ago from PUT but haven't had the need to use it...yet.  Glad to know that when we ever do, it'll work well.  Thanks in advance PUT! :D

Thanks for posting this.

We had to send our AAR out to Fleetwood to have 3 zippers replaced. I guess, with all the rain and mud, the mechanisms got a bit sticky. The kids forced them one too many times and we lost teeth. Luckily, Fleetwood agreed to fix them for $20 freight (less than the estimate I got from a local boat canvas shop).

Now that it's fixed, we've been talking about getting zipper lube, so I'll be putting my order in.  :D

I got some a while back and like it too.  Plus because it isn't a spray it only goes where you want it to. :)

I use it on my tonneau cover snaps on my truck, works great for that as well.

I did not get that lucky with my popup 6x6 screened room. Playhut completely ignored me.  Jeffrey was showing off and jerked the plastic zipper and pulled a couple of the teeth.  I was told I could sew another zipper on the old one (I only wish I had a sewing machine that I could figure out how to use, one is in the attic, but I have never been able to get it threaded so it would sew).  I guess that I could get the canvas shop to do it, but I have the bigger one with the legs attached that goes up in supposedly 90 seconds (with 2 people).

After my above post, it was killing me to try out my snap and zipper lube. We weren't having any problems with our awning bag zipper, but I applied some all along the zipper and zipped and unzipped it a couple of times. It worked fine before, but now it's like butter! :D

I see the zipper lube is no longer available through the Pop Up Times Store.

Hey Dave- will you be offering it again at any time?

I noticed it's back in the store today. Get your tube quick before it or your zipper goes bye bye! LOL  ;)

Saved again! We purchased an inexpensive 12'x14' screenroom, from Walmart, for our permanent site. Of course, the zippers are also "inexpensive". After setting it up, the door zipper facing the trailer jammed about 6" from the top. It started the typical plastic zipper thing of opening as you went to that spot and refusing to close while zipping up or down. Peggy put the lubricant on it and, after a few slow up & down zips, it's now fine. Maybe I'll just keep a couple of these in my possibles bag.

"possibles bag"  ???????  OMG, Dvinya, are you turning into a Mountain Man right before our very eyes???;)  :o :J

Niidji, don't forget that we native people always keep our possibles bag nearby too, never know when you'll need to make or repair something. And, Lil Bro, since I have the same screen tent, i guess maybe I should get a tube of this stuff too, just in case.

T, when my "possibles bag" got so big it wouldnt fit into the van  OR  the  house  anymore, DH suggested we rent a  trailer from an 18 wheeler.  I just have a lot of "necessaries"

(hmmm, maybe, IF what Al says is true about all the  creature comforts females need to take  camping, :J   I am kin to PEGGY and not  HIM! :)

A few camping trips ago, I decided to just coat all of our camper zippers with this product, even though they weren't really giving us any trouble.  They immediately worked much easier.  We went camping this weekend and Dh again remarked how much better the zippers all work.  This stuff is magic!:D

The new lube in the store is different, isn't it?
