I just saw the Weber Q propane grill. A little pricey at $170 but very sturdy with large surface area and a cast iron grill. It also has two winged fold-out shelves. The top and bottom sections are cast aluminum. You can also purchase a foll-down roll cart and stand. The engineering appears to be first-rate.

Check it out on the Weber website.

GDSLTSDoes anyone own one of these or seen one in use?

 GDSLTSGDSLTS,

Be carefull, it is only 12,000BTUs. Coleman Roadgrill is around 20-30K BTUs. On those cold morning camping you want some thing with some heat to cook with...

whitestar505Weber s BTU ratings can be a little missleading.  The Genesis gas grills are only rated at 36,000 BTU s and they cook everything just fine - if you let them warm up enough.

I saw the Weber "Q" at Home Depot and I liked it a lot. I then went to Sports Authority and saw they had the Weber "MINI-Q" which I knew was PERFECT for my needs at home and when camping. Since it is just my wife and child the smaller grill is just the ticket.

The Mini-Q has a lower BTU but it heats up plenty fast. The cast iron grate more than makes up for any BTU shortcoming. It cooks great! To me, size was more important than nuke 'em BTU power.

The Mini-Q is smaller in size by a few inches and doesn't have the fold out wings. The wings looked nice but I didn't need them as the Q is usually used on a table anyways.

The quality is TOP-NOTCH! Burner is stainless-steel and it has an electronic ignition. The control valve is VERY adjustable, unlike cheaper units. Plus, it is a REAL GRILL, not a "George Foreman-type" heated slab of aluminum like some of the others. The cast iron grate is excellent and leaves those nice grill lines that say, "BBQ!"

I use it camping and it just fits in my PU cabinet under the sink for storage. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this grill!!

We have used our Weber Q grill over 20 times and are more than satisfied with it. I, too, was a little concerned about the BTU rating. But the cast iron grill and the thick aluninum body holds the heat well and BTU output is not a problem. We have used it in cold weather, wind and altitude - and have had no problems. It is easy to clean. It does take up space. But the extra large grilling surface is worth it. The foldable wing trays are a great idea. You can also get a folddown table/cart. That will be my next purchase.
