I just won a New Coleman Propane Hot Water on Demand with Carry case, Spray adapter, Water carrier on EBay for $150.00 including shipping. I have never seen one in use before. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal, and if it works as well as the Coleman site says. We want to use it for an outside shower.
Thanks

You got a very good deal and you will love this thing. I got one when they first came out, and I think it all ended up being about 270 dollars at the coleman store. I have used it for many things and really do love it. It is so versital. Hope you like it as much as I like mine.

It's a decent price you paid for it. You didn't "steal" it nor nor did you get taken. I think I paid about that for ours (similarly equiped) at Sams last year. The thing has a rechargable battery in it so it's fairly heavy...good thing shipping was included!

We really like ours. Use it mostly for dish washing, making hot chocolate and for rinsing off every now and then. The waterflow is nothing like a regular shower so don't look for a high volume of flow. With the included water carrier, you wouldn't want a lot of flow anyway...five gallons would go really fast. The water will definitly get hot.

For showers, you may want to consider a water hose adapter that will give you a continuous supply of water vs. the carrier. Coleman sells them in their stores and, I think, on-line. It's a special adapter...not as easy as just hooking up a hose to the Hot Water on Demand unit.

There is more info on these units on this site. Under the "Product Reviews" page (where we are now), look to the bottom of the page below the topics and change the view to "last 100 days" and hit "go".

We really enjoy the hot water this thing gives us...sure makes life simpler!

Oh, Welcome to the site too!:)

Wow! Guess we got a better deal than I realized! I like thing even better now. Hersheygirl...you've had your's longer than we have...do you ever clean/flush it? We last used ours in Ohio and I thought I was going to have to lock the thing up...Kelly was eying it with envy:D.

Well UPS just dropped it off here. I'll let everybody know what we think of it after our week end camping trip this week end. Also does anyone know if the battery goes dead, can you use it with the charger plugged in ? I can't find anything in the manual about it.
Thanks

We don't own one, but have played with one several times at the Coleman store. Works really well, although I was just playing and wasn't "doing" anything. It would heat the water very quickly.

We sorta wanted one, but we are out of room in the camper/truck, and are trying not to spend money on a camper we might not have for more than one or two more years.
