Has anyone seen or used these.  I was thinking about either getting one of these or modifying a $20 dining canopy like this for tailgating at the football / baseball games.

www.enelcompany.com  LOOK AT THE ALL VEHICLE AWNING.

 Gamecock CamperStopher,

 Take a look at this:

 http://www.sportsshade.com/textonly.asp?NavButton=01&.asp

I bought one at Sams Club last month for under $25.  It attaches to the luggage rack on my Astro van.  Since it is so light weight I attach it when I get to where I am going an take it down when I leave.  The price was WAY RIGHT!!!!!!

Gamecock CamperNice.  Thanks for sharing it.  I ll look to see if the Sam s near us has them next time I go.

Gamecock CamperThe sportsshade URL says $149.99 and you got it for UNDER $25 at Sam s???

I have http://www.kirkhams.com/tabs/screenhouses/autocanopy.html and it s quite a beauty.  Has the advantage of sides that keep off some of the lateral sun.

It ties to the luggage rack.  I d never thought of putting it on the tail gate but I m going to see if there s a way to attach it back there - possibly with longer ties that will reach the rear track of the luggage track.

Gamecock CamperSeems like $15.00 worth of 3/4"  CPVC (Or copper if you like to solder!) & fittings and a $5.00 tarp and you could make one yourself! OR if you have an old dining canopy, the kind with the points that go up through the tarp, you could fashion one out of that!

Gamecock CamperSandy, Yes it is the same $149 awning for a fraction of the cost at Sams.  It has a hardshell case, is spring-loaded so you just pull it out of the case, and the legs drop down.  Honestly, it isn t worth $149 but it sure was worth what I paid for it!
