 Hi All,

Yesterday, DW and I took a trip to our local Camping World and picked up a couple of the Dahon folding bicycles. She opted for the single-speed (on sale for $129.00) and I got the 6-speed model (on sale for $169.00).

We decided on the Dahon models so we wouldn t have to worry with buying an additional bike rack. The decision was made after I checked the prices of the Yakima rack I needed for my Explorer. The parts were going to run over $400! Yes, I know there are cheaper alternatives, but I had my heart set on a Yakima. After buying the rack, we would still have to purchase bicycles.

The Dahon bikes come out of the box already assembled. All you have to do is unfold them and put air into the tires. Dahon does recommend that you take your bike to a dealer for an adjustment before riding, but that is a decision for you to make. Dahon says the dealer adjustment validates the warranty.

We took them out for a maiden ride this morning and they were all that we expected and more. One thing you have to watch, since they have 20"  rims, the bikes are more responsive that bikes with 26"  rims. The bikes weigh a little over 30 pounds each and are very manageable. We also purchased the Dahon carrying bags specially designed for the bikes (about $53.00).

DW and I are looking forward to some relaxing rides through the campgrounds. Wave at us when we pass by!

I have the 6 speed and my wife has the standard, we both love to ride them.  Like the other post said, the turning is quick but you soon get used to that.
