I was using the dog as the reference....and I ve only seen male dogs chase their tail. I ve never seen a female dog do that.

 Our female cat does that.  She s an old lady too, turning 11 next month, yet still chases her tail like a kitten.  You d think that by now, she would have figured out it s attached!
