I am looking for a durable screen room 10x10. We purchased one from Target last year and we had to throw it away. The poles broke and the canvas leaked, it was a real piece of junk. We were told that EZ UP brand is much better, but would like some more opinions before buying. Thanks and Happy Camping!

We have a First-Up awning and bought the screen walls for it.  This is the brand Wal-Mart sells.  Total price for canopy and screen walls was around $110.  We wanted the versatility of just an awning, a screen room, and wind panels (solid sides).  We haven't purchased the solid sides yet, but they cost $30.  Total investment will be under $150 for three different setups.  It is a full 10 x 10, 100 sq ft of coverage, with straight legs.  We looked at the "just" screenhouses and found most of them to be nothing more than a flimsy tent with all screen instead of solid sides.

We shopped all the big-box stores, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Sports Authority.  Even the comparable ones at most of those stores were more expensive on sale, as were the add-ons ($55 for the screen panels for the ones at Sports Authority!).  The quality was not as good either.  I was surprised, as I usually find the quality lacking in a lot of things sold at Wal-Mart.

Another thing I like about the one at Wal-Mart is that the fabric part is tight enough that all but the heaviest rain will run right off.  I have seen too many of the other brands that had very thin fabric that tends to sag in between the corners just as it arches up at the sides to the slope and they let water pool there.  I don't want to take my awning/screen room down for every little sprinkle.

We got the First-Up 10' x 10'  at Walmart,  and bought the   screen  and  wind  curtain too.   It replaced a cheap screen room purchased the year before .Well  worth the $$$$$!

A creative way to deal with that is to strategically place hula hoops  on the underside of the top.

Since those with thinner fabric that sags cost more on sale than I paid for mine I wouldn't expect to have to fool with placing hoola hoops (an additional expense not to mention something else to carry and store) just so to keep it from collapsing in the rain!  No thanks.

I purchased a Paha Que screen room several years ago and it is still going strong.  It is a very well made screen room and has held up during storms and down pours.  I have pictures of it in my webshots album.:)
