I noticed that one of " the other"  pop-up camper message boards has a forum for Product reviews.  I thought it was pretty good.  Is that something that would be good for the PUT site also?  Are other people interested in this too?

Gamecock CamperA product review area would be a nice addition. It would make it much easier when researching something you want to add to you collection of things to haul around!
The BAL leveler comes up often, along with coolers and grills, etc. A permanent home for those and other items would be nice.

oldmoose

Gamecock CamperI agree also. When searching for new " toys"  it would be helpful to see how things work or not work.

tlhdoc

Gamecock CamperI think it is a good idea too.

GeneF

Gamecock CamperDefinetly would like to see this type of forum.

Maybe we could get some honest reviews of different types of popups also.  Not product bashing but what the popup is really like in our own humble opinion.

got woody?

This is an excellent point.  The Search feature is nice, but it can be a lttle over-whelming if you want info on a commonly discussed item or a broad term.

A dedicated section for Product reviews could provide a place to start.  The only downside may be that the board gets too compartmentalized and folks miss good info if their surfing time is limited and they don t get to see every forum.

Gamecock CamperDave & I talked about this today after reading the beginnings of this post,  The main concern is " are we getting to fragmented?"

Right now we have 43 forums!

We can have as many as we want, but how many is too many before people stop looking at all of them.. Already members are posting messages to look at different forums.

 Feedback - thoughts???

Gamecock CamperIf we see the name of a product, in the subject line, that we are interested in, we ll open the thread, no matter where it s posted. So having a separate forum isn t an issue for us.

As long as the subject line clearly states the subject, product, campground, etc., then it s easier to pick and choose what threads we follow.

 Gamecock CamperAll,

I agree on all statements listed in this thread. In fact I have been going to ask why we have so many forums. I think we should break some of these into other directories showing only the directory name and listing folders under it when opened. It is getting to the point where I don t remember where I posted a message or where one was. Food for the B.......

I counted 45!, but of those, 4 are ArveeClub info, and 24 are dedicated to clubs and rallies. It s the breakdown of specific clubs that makes it seem like so much.

In the General there are 8, and 1 of those is a temporary forum. It does look like there are plenty, but the breakdowns are what makes navigating the board easier.I guess I don t find it all over whelming, just easier to find what I m looking for.

Gamecock CamperI agree with all the comments made so far.  My personal feelings vary; yes I would like to see a place where information on a product could be found easily however I also like to ask or answer and see answers to those questions on an ongoing and regular basis.  I do not want to see the board become too busy or specific either.  So trying to keep a long answer short, I d vote to see it kept in the General section and maybe have a user friendly search section.

Gamecock CamperI like the idea of a having a " review"  forum for products....
I think that the posts in this area should be limited to performance discriptions and opinions.

I think that this would also be nice in the Campground Review section...

It is somtimes frustrating to have to read through a lot of casual conversation to get some specific product or campground information. I think that to be of most use, the " review "  forums should stay focused on providing specific information, and the colorful banter should be left to other forums.

 Just my $.02

Gamecock Camper

Gamecock CamperI still think it is a good idea.  If it were implemented I think that there should be guidelines to posting in this forum to keep the banter down a little.  This is certainly not a complete or even a well thought out list, but a start to the types of questions that people might look for.

Product name / brand / model.

Price paid (it can be ballpark since this might be regional)

link to a webpage to show the product

Did it work as you expected it to?

What feature(s) did you consider the most important?

 Is it user friendly?

How long have you had it or how much have you used it?

What other brand / model / product did you consider and why did you decide on this product?

Would you recommend this to others?

Scaling using the old 1 to 10 (10 is best, 5 Average, 1 poor)

Perhaps there could be a " standard"  form to fill out that would promt the desired information
