Title: Propane Quick Connect
Post by: ckkevin on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
My hybrid has an Auto Changeover Two-Stage Regulator on the two LP tanks.  I am wanting to add a propane T to the line with a quick connect so I can operate my grill and lantern from the trailer s LP tanks.

Can I add the T directly to the bottom of the regulator?  Any one done this before?  Any advise would be appreciated.

ckkevinGood question.  I d like to know this too as I am currently carrying two 20lb propane tanks and it sure would be easier to carry one 20lb or one 30lb tank.

ckkevinThe only problem with this idea is that appliances requiring high pressure propane to operate correctly (like the Coleman high-pressure outside stove, Mr. Heater " Buddy" , and my Camp Chef stove) won t work if the " T"  is downstream of the 2-stage auto regulator. It s a problem that can be solved with a LOT of fittings, but is a PITA.

Unfortunately, until Marshall (or somebody else) makes an 2-stage auto-changeover regulator that lets us put a " T"  between the two stages, the only real option is to run the extra stuff off one tank *before* the 2-stage regulator, or use a separate tank.
