In fishing, there s catch & release. Thanks to Dave, we now have it on this board too!
Seems that if you post to a topic, and someone posts to your post but doesn t use the post to topic post and sometime later you delete your post, you will also delete all the posts posted to your now deleted post! LOL
So, here s a thread that we can try this new technology on! Someone reply to this topic (starting a chain) and everyone else reply to that post. Of course, some won t and eventually the first poster can delete his reply and kill a bunch of others. Now, which will be the next post to become the topic of this post? And, if within 24 hours you don t delete your post, I m calling Dave & having this whole topic deleted! [:o][;)][:(]
topcat7736they disabled deletions [;)][;)][;)]
birolWasn t it only on the General board? Maybe yes, maybe no. And, birol (who may become red dotted if this thing doesn t work), maybe I posted a reply to your reply & maybe I didn t! lol
topcat7736I also thought moderator1 said it was on the general board. oh well maybe i t efected all the boards. I can live with that.
I don t see a delete button anywhere ....
topcat7736Ah, but eventually the rat who turned it off will turn it back on. And when that happens, who knows what evil will occur inside THIS TOPIC! [:o]
topcat7736" rat" ? I am completely disassociated from you [8D] Who are you ? Who am I ? what am I doing here ?
Is it red button time already ? [:D][:D][:D][:D]

topcat7736What is this thread turning into, A Harry Potter movie ? Sheeeeesssshhhhh
[;)]
topcat7736What a disappointment!! I logged in to this thread because I thought " catch and release" was going to be about the game our cat has been playing in the middle of the night with the mice he catches. He wakes us up banging into things and leaping about in the dark with some poor mouse as his toy. He has caught FIVE mice lately! We think a whole litter of them must have hatched out here at one time as they are all small and the same size. We dont know how they got in, but we live in a log house on a farm and the neighborhood is full of mice. I think we need an outdoor cat.
And I never figured out how to delete yet on this board so dont blame me if all your posts disappear. I DIDNT DO IT! [:)]
topcat7736Hey! I m still looking for my post from this afternoon!
Now, if I could remember what is was about.....[;)][8D]
topcat7736Dangit..thought this was gonna be a fishing game.
topcat7736Duck, it is a fishing game, WE fished YOU [;)]
topcat7736So far, most of the replies have been to the original thread. If you click the " post reply" button, it attaches to the original message. You have to click the small " sheet of paper" with the green arrow (the tooltip is " Reply" ) to attach your reply to a specific message.
To know which replies are to which messages, go back to the forum page and click the little white box with the arrow in it. A tree will be displayed showing the arrangement of messages. When a reply is confusing, it can help to see which message it is in response to.
So even though this post is (currently) the last thread in the topic, it is the second reply to Topcat s first post.
Is that clear enough?[&:]

Gee, thanks...I feel so special now. Catching me is no big deal..haven t you heard that the rednek fish is one of the easiest ones to catch? Alls you need is a can of Colorado Kool-Aid, and some string..and we ll chase that thing forever.
topcat7736RNRD, what in the heck is Colorado Kool-aid? I m sure it is some kind of beverage for adult kids.
AustinBostonThanks for pointing that out Austin,
I never tried it before
You can also re-name the subject when replying, and that can help with who is replying to what.

Thanks Austin...that it is. And it is made there. I ve made a pilgrimage with my Dad there one year (he retired to Boulder), and we tested lots of the samples. It was our first stop for the day. Went to the Denver Zoo afterwards. Probabally should have made the Coors Brewery our last stop for that day. Good thing his GF was driving.
topcat7736Huh?[&:]
Turn KeyDarn I can t keep away, my few days are over [:)]
Turn key What part of a fake thread to test thread deletions didn t you understand [:D][:D][:D]
When a reply with replies to it is deleted, it takes away all the replies to that reply, we were going to test that but moderators disabled deletions to precent whole threads from disappearing. So now we are left with this untestable test thread.
Did I make sense ?
