Title: Welcome
Post by: Used 2B PopUPTimes on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
I want to take this opportunity to welcome everybody to this new forum, and to say thanks.  6 weeks ago many of you would have tarred and feathered me for making a business decision to charge for access,  I m glad to see so many of you decided to stay. The boards are fully funded for 2004.

We re not finished with the development yet, there s more to come. We ve had verbal commitments from 2 rv makers to offer rebates on new purchases but we re waiting for written commitments. We re also working on several others.

So far the following companies have offered discounts for ARVREE Club members:
Pa Ha Que Tents 10% on any of their products.
Pop Gizmos 10% on their reflective bunk ends.
The Happy Camper Club $10 off of their annual « price camping club.
PopUPTimes on line store 10% off

Those of you who also subscribe to the magazine will receive your magazines via First Class mail from now on.

Charter members who sign up by Jan 5, 2003 will have a March 30, 2004 expiration.  Members who sign up from Jan 6-31, 2003 will be considered Charter members but will have Jan 1, 2004 expirations.  We will never increase Charter member renewal rates.

We ll post more details soon.

 Thanks
 Dave

popuptimespersonally...the thought of redneckrubberduck covering you in whip cream and french tickling you is a bit bizarre and a bit strange, but i guess its better than tar and feathering

popuptimesDave, great board!  Great features!  I hope you have been aware that MANY  of us had " instant"  faith that you were changing the board  for very good and NON-GREEDY reasons, and that most " fence-sitters"  would never  have started heating up the tar bucket--they were just taking a bit longer to make up their minds or see what their  03 budgets were going to be like.

The whole thing was  an interesting lesson in human-nature, though.  After the eastern rally, one " Loyal Member"  came back  raving about how FANTASTIC the rally  AND YOU and the board were, and then suddenly turned on you and PUT  viciously both publicly and  behind the scenes when the changes were announced wishing nothing but disaster for Anything PUT.  Just proves the old cliche about it taking all kinds to make the world.

Your magazine is one-of-a-kind.  You took an " orphan"  segment of the RV world and made it trendy and popular  (Brought it out of the closet, so to speak)  Hell s Bells--you made Popping UP  into a CULT!!  This board is a unique community and I thank you and Steve and your staff   from the bottom of my heart for making it all possible.

Now where is that darned KissyFace Emoticon when I need it? [&:]

popuptimesI like the way it looks too.  I m more likely to respond to the more serious campers and ask questions.

Night Owl said it just right.

 Thanks and keep on poppin-up.[:)]

 popuptimesHey,

I would like to suggest a message board for recall announcements.  I saw a message about recalls and I was thinking that these would be great if people could find them later on down the line.

 Just a thought.

popuptimesDave - We have not be able to come to any of the rallies and thus do not know most of you.  But we love the cyberfriends we have made on this board and we appredicate the kindness and help everyone so willingly offers.  We are with you all the way.  We loved the old board and we love this board.  We understand the minor cost, nothing in life is free.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

popuptimesWell Dave, you can look at it this way.

" Anybody can give something away for free. It takes a person with brains to charge a price."
