On Tuesday the 25th when Birol made his decision to take Jeffrey s brilliant suggestion seriously to get a tent and GO CAMPING, I got a brainstorm. Through " no fault of our own" , we have ended up with two brand new (still-in-the-carton) Thetford porta-potties. so I went out to our storage building and checked to make sure I wasnt imagining things. Yep, there it was.
A Thetford 155SL. NO ONE needs TWO porta-potties unless they have serious health problems[;)](fortunately, we dont[:)])
So I e-mailed him about this and he graciously accepted my offer to send it to him for his Camping Hope Chest . Then Cavman came up with his great and generous offer to send the gift of a tent he isnt using any more.[:D][:D][:D]
Then, after Cavman added the tent, I got thinking that he and I might not be the only ones with extra gear who would like to help Birol get into real camping adventures. So, if any of you have any equipment you dont need which is in good shape, maybe you could send it to Birol BEFORE he buys something he maybe doesnt need to get if someone has surplus of it--all it will cost you is just a small amount for shipping as long as you mark it clearly as a GIFT!
If they ask me at the PO,what is in the package I ll tell them I am sending a birthday present to MY Cousin Birol! [8D][:)][:D][;)]
NightOwlGreat Idea!!!! I keep trying to send him a case of Colorado Kool-Aid, but I never make it out the front door with it before it s empty. [:D] I wish we had something to offer, but I had gotten rid of all the camping gear we didn t need anymore when I got the PU (thought I could send an extremely hyper 6 year old who likes to help even though no help is required). So I ll just send good wishes, and god speed and hoping all his camping trips are only in the mid 70 s during the day, and low 60 s in the evenings, and the fish are biting no matter what bait is used. NightOwl...you truly are one special person.

Ian, as I well know from recent personal experiience, sending someone your encouragement and best wishes is just as valuable as THINGS! You have a good heart (just like Birol does) and we can use more people like this everywhere!
