I agree. The value of this board isn t measured in the number of its subscribers, but by the quality of the people it retained. I see a lot of familiar faces, but also a lot of the quiet ones who participate more. It s nice to hear from everyone. The feel of PUT is intact, stronger than ever before. It was the members of PUT that established the idea that an online community can be built and against odds, it developed into one.
And as we enter into a new era for this community, let me say that I am gratified to be a member alongside with you. We ve taken a lot of criticisms in the past, but I can proudly say that a large majority of those here have always taken the high road.
The PUT membership isn t a building or a device or even just an information exchange medium. It is really the pursuit of an idea, that we all belong to a certain hobby with people that we ve met online that have become friends who come in time of need and to have fun with. And the house that built those relationships is PUT. And when that system called for our help, we answered with conviction.
And so, with the core of members we have on board, we have nothing else to look forward to except an unbridled optimism for the future. It s good to be with all of you.

The above eloquent quotes really capture the essence of what PUT means to those of us who stayed. Thanks guys!
And, yes, it is REALLY GREAT to see people posting now who admit to just reading the old board but not saying much. They can bring a lot of fresh air and new perspectives to the rest of us and I sure hope they keep on jumping in and freely joining the campfire Dave has provided for us.
Have others noticed how relaxed and warm and open people are NOW? I feel a lot freer to express admiration or affection for people now that I know my words arent being read by cynics who like to specialize in put-downs or who think PUT should be run like other boards.
Sure, we all come here to add to our knowledge of camping and popup-type rv s (or pop-outs) and information about other parts of our country, but I think most of us also come here for the friendship and caring this place offers, as well as the laughter and just plain silliness at times.
It is good to be home here with the rest of you! In fact, it is a treasured PRIVILEGE! [:)][:)][:)]
