I just posted some new pictures from South Llano SP in Texas. They were taken on 1/2/03 and the temps were in the upper 60s and low 70s. Ah, camping in Texas.

TrlrboyI was really enjoying your photo s until I read the pics were taken on Jan 2nd. That isn t nice. It s in the low 30 s and snowing here.[;)]
TrlrboyNice pictures. It must be nice to be able to camp in Jan. All we here in Michigan can do is read the board and wait until spring to go camping. The temp in in the low 30 s and snow on the ground.
TrlrboyVery nice pictures! Almost makes me homesick - but not quite... I m from Austin, but moved to MN 6 years ago. Just returned from Texas visiting my family for Christmas. I love to go back to visit, but also love living in MN. I do like seeing the pictures from the various state parts, etc. There are some really nice parts of Texas and some great scenery. And of course it would be nice to be able to camp in January.
[:)]
TrlrboyYup, a foot of snow here and cold. Our camper looks like a big white bump.
I am going through withdrawal. You are such a tease. That sounds like spring weather here, but the way winter is going we ll have snow til mothers day.
TrlrboyPI you have to dig out for the North-South Lake trip in NY. I t will be Mothers Day when we go there.[;)]
TrlrboyWOW trlrboy! What a beautiful campground, looks like you just about had the place all to yourself![:)] So tell us, did you try out the " head" on stilts! LOL [:D]
TrlrboyI really like the pictures. Makes me hope for spring to come soon. We are in IA and the high was in the 50s. Much better than the 0 we have had in other years. Just want it to warm up and get out again.
Trlrboytrlrboy,
We almost went there during that same timeframe. We ended up going to Lake Sommerville SP. We camped on the north side at the Birch Creek facility. We had a site overlooking the lake and could not have had better weather. We did have our section of the park too ourselves the first couple of nights, then a couple from northern Ohio pulled in and camped at the site beside us...the other lakeside site.
Glad you had a good time and hope our northern friends get out soon.
TrlrboyNice pictures. Looks like a great place to camp.
Thanks for sharing!
TrlrboyOk..now I m jealous. Great pics.
TrlrboyGreat pics! What part of Texas is this in?
TrlrboyIt s about 100 miles west of Austin in what is know as the Texas hill country. This far west it s sort of semi-arid with lots of scrub oak and pine with low growing cactus all over the place. Very low humidity most of the time and a great area for camping. About 50 miles east of there it s less " cactusy" and more hilly with lots of lakes and " touristy" types of stuff to do. Great part of the country.
TrlrboyGreat Pics makes me want to camp, But I love the four seasons[:)]
TrlrboyGreat pictures! You inspired me to create my own website.
tlhdoctlhdoc,
Maybe I can find some sled rails to put under the tires....That is if I can find the darn camper.
TrlrboyI hate you, I hate you! Only kidding. Wish I were camping. Your pictures are awesome. Looks like a great place to camp.
