Title: Awning Problem
Post by: missteri on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
Over the winter, my awning bag has detached from the camper.  The snow has finally melted around the camper and I checked it out this weekend.  The awning bag was originally sewn to a plastic strip that connects to the camper.  The thread appears to have dry rotted.  I don t think that my sewing machine is heavy duty enough to sew it back together.  Has anyone else ever had this problem?

shirleybMine is doing the same thing.  I was thinking of doing a hand sewing job with heavy duty nylon thread and a big needle.  A rivet might work too.  I guess anything to stop the tension on the remaining threads would work.  Any other ideas?[8D][8D][8D]

shirleybCheck under boat canvas, or canvas, boat in your yellow pages. It was about a ten dollar while you wait repair every time I had it done. As long as it s only sewing a seam it don t cost much.
