[font=" comic sans ms" ]Mom s thread about favorite music got me thinking....there was a thread on the old board about our top 5 songs. That was fun!

KellyWhoa--Kelly, NO CONTEST--
WILLIE singin " On The Road Again"
And Bob Seger doin " Roll Me Away"
(I actaully cannot play " Roll Me" while I am driving because I go nuts and by the end of the song I am doin 85mph and that is highly NOT recoomeded by anyone!)
Kelly1. Willie... On the Road Again
2. Beach Boys... Fun, Fun, Fun
3. Jackson Browne... Running on Empty
4. Bonnie Raitt... anything at all on any CD
5. Dixie Chicks... Run
KellyNow this all depends on where we are headed. For example, on our long road trip last spring when we were going to see Graceland, we played " Graceland" by Paul Simon. On the way to Memphis, we had Guy Clark playing " Limo to Memphis" . And while we were just hanging in Memphis, we played " Walking in Memphis" by Marc Cohn. So it all depends on the mood and destination.
KellyMost of the " road music" I like, including " Graceland" , and " Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes" , is also GREAT treadmill music![:)]
(Yes, as someone else has already remarked, these smilies DO look like Pokemon faces LOL)
KellyOK, my songs are, in no particular order...Battle of New Orleans (which my DS also loves), Convoy, East Bound and Down (or what ever you call it from Smokey and the Bandit), Desperado, and Take it Easy. I also like to put in my soundtrack to Riverdance for my longer trips, or one of my greatest country hits. I guess it all depends on what mood I m in.
KellyAll that have been mentioned... and " Born to be Wild" !
Have a great day!

It s what got me into actual Irish Folk Music. I got to see them when they were here in KC..and we were so close to the stage..we could feel their sweat hitting us when they danced. Have 2 CD versions...and the DVD (note....don t play at full blast on surround sound...makes things fall off the walls).
KellyHow about " Six days on the road and I am going to make it home tonight" Anyone know the name of the song and author.
whitestar505[font=" Lucida Sans Unicode " ]

On the way back: (more mellow tunes)
Seven Bridges Home by Lowen and Navarro
Take Me Home Country Roads by John Denver
Sailing by Rod Stewart
Honeybee - Try the Wiggles or Bear in the Blue House for a change of pace in kids tune! I find myself tapping a toe to Bear on occasion.
KellyI thought about this again, and when we are on the road, we tend to scan the radio stations to hear what other areas are playing. In our travels we have found some true gems. The one that jumps out in my mind is KBAC in Santa Fe, NM. We used to listen to them over the web, but with changes in the music industry, they quit streaming their broadcast. Bummer!
bikoleeA great place to hear many of the selected road songs is at the radio station,KPIG.They brodcast from Freedom,Ca.,but stream over the net, too.
KellyOk, here they are.
1. East bound and down.
2. Hot rod linclon

4. 409
And last but not least, an oldie but a goodie, And one properly most people remimber is ( and Redneckrubberduck sould love.)

Bruce Springstein
Fleetwood Mac
Aerosmith
AC/DC
Hootie and the Blowfish
