Title: Fix for black aluminum dust in camper?
Post by: MDCamper on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
Does anyone have (or remember) the fix for the black aluminum dust that happens when traveling with the pop-up?  Our Utah has a terrible problem with it and it is a real bear to clean.  I remember a post on the old board some time ago that explained that it was caused by the friction between the bed sliders and had a solution using a barrier of some sort, but I can t remember the specifics.  I searched the old board after the switch-over, but the original post must have been past the one-year archive limit.  Any experience (or better memory)?  Much appreciate any help

MDCamperHere s a solution from the OZANDUS website... http://community.webshots.com/photo/50440751/53673875kfjOUs

We had the same problem, copied Bill s solution here and that fixed it completely.

MDCamperWe also used Oz s fix and have had no more problems since.  Simple fix that apparently is too expensive for Coleman to address.

MDCamperI did the mod of putting velcro on the track (thank you Bill) and I haven t had a problem with the dust ever since.  I had forgot about that problem, it works so well.
