Title: SADDAM S STATUE IS DOWN!
Post by: Ernhrts3n8 on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
I am very happy to say the statue of Saddam Hussain is down in Central Baghdad.  What a great site it was to see it fall.  The Iraqi people were jumping and dancing on top of the fallen statue.  They were throwing shoes at the statue and seemed to be truely happy that the statue is gone.  May God bless our troops and the people of Iraq!

Ernhrts3n8There is still a long way to go before this thing is over.  At this moment, there is absolutely no government in Iraq.  The city of Baghdad is in total anarchy.

Ernhrts3n8There sure is a long way to go - but at least there is freedom for those people.  I m sure the troops won t be in any hurry to leave until some form of goverment is set up.
 Hurray for them!!  [:)] [:D]

Ernhrts3n8I personally think that it will take a long time for some sort of government to be put in place.   At least there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the people of Iraq.  It will be a long road ahead of them, but I believe that they will rise to the occasion and become a much better place to live.  The war has been won but the battles still remain.

Ernhrts3n8According to the media in Turkey, Iraqis are not happy at all about the " Americans invading their country" . People who were in that square shown on tv this morning are called traitors and so on ....

I am hoping they will seee the good which might come out of this and move in that direction swiftly rather than get distracted with things which won t help them build a better country.

My motto is : Every good thing in life comes after a lot of tears, worry, hard work and sometimes blood. If it doesn t hurt, the end results won t be  spectacular. I hope everyone will rise to the occasion and built a better Iraq and hopefully stabilize the region.

Ernhrts3n8I believe the people of Iraq are worried that the American s will leave and let the people fend for themselves. This is not the case. At least it better not be the case.  Once the fighting is completely over and the people see that we are staying to see this through, they will have a change of opinion, I believe. I m sure there will be some that will resist.  But you can t tell me that those people would be happier under Saddam s " Stalin"  rule rather than an elected Iraqi government.

Ernhrts3n8As soon as that statue came down, the streets in Dearborn, Michigan were filled with Iraqis jumping in celebration waving American flags & the " pre-Saddam"  flags.  Dearborn, Michigan has purported to have the largest population of Iraqi people outside of Iraq.  Many of them here are living in exile & feared for their lives while Saddam s regime continued to terrorize their families, friends, & neighbors.  The celebration was plastered all over the evening news & even made it on CNN.  Many stated in interviews that they would go back to Iraq to at least visit.  Some said they would go back to help re-build the new government.  Thank God the veils of fear have been lifted to allow these people to freely express their desires to return to their homeland with their heads held high & not cower to a hideous regime.

God bless those who have given their lives to free these people!

 Peace be with you all.

Don t worry help is on the way.  The food and water should be there anytime now.  I know this for sure.
My son said that the Iraqi people are very happy.  I don t know what statue he seen fall but I will find out.  It was just so good to hear his voice after this long.  But, we all must remember that they really don t know how to act because they have never been free. Just pray that they understand the free world as rules also.
