birolSomehow, I don t think that is likely to work.

If we continue to make a habit of knocking out Middle Eastern countries in order to avoid dealing with the fact that we can t find the alleged chemical weapons, we will find ourselves trying to bite off more than we can chew.

 garym053garym053,  made me grin. . .

I don t get this Syria now being the threat though.  Maybe I am plain and simply ignorant, but it seems like our government is trying real hard to keep backing itself into corners so it can come out fighting.

Before anyone jumps all over me, please realize I fully support our troops, I just don t want to see any needless loss without more evidence.

From what I have heard, they haven t even searched all the places in Iraq they want to search yet.  But it sounds like they are trying to prepare a good fallback for why they might not find anything.  Not saying they won t, not saying they will, mind ya.

birolI wouldn t get too excited yet! After all it was reported by the TURKISH PRESS! Look how bad the media in our country screws things up, this could be reported in the Turkish equivilent of Star, or National Enquirer!!!

What really gets me is that while the Iraqis are cheering our troops, the Saudis, Syrians, etc are expressing sadness that saddly insane, I mean Saddam Hussein didn t last longer!!! Why is it that everyone who is FOR him didn t live under his rule?

Also... as an added thought: Once they found the torture chambers, rape rooms, and morgue with all the bodies that showed signs of torture, it no longer mattered to me whether or not they found chemicals, this was a goverment that needed to be taken out!

birolThat s nothing, I had the UNPLEASANT experience of listening to a short segment of Shawn Hannity Radio Show, to hear him tell it, we ll be rolling M1A1 Tanks into Canada by next week!!!

Personally, I don t think the people of this country would support an invasion of another country... well, maybe France! [;)]

birolI hope and pray that the war(s) are over for now. But, we still must protect this Country with everything we have.   I feel we showed just how strong the U.S. is.  I really feel that it s time to heal.  We have a job to complete,  we promised to help the Iraqi People and keep them safe, this Country needs to stay focused.

birolwatch it, gary...there are some folk who are very touchy about jokes on this subject (as I found out...to my chagrin).

puleeez...do you think you could put in a good word so they ll send a few missiles or tanks to Venezuela?  Chavez has pretty much ruined the country.  About two years ago he told Fidel Castro, " Venezuela is en route to the same path to happiness that Cuba enjoys."

I guess a two-fer for Havana and Caracas would be OK.  On second thought...just take out the " leaders"  and spare the cities from the devastation.

I came to the conclusion that it s a " Don t " eff"  With Us,"   war.  And although I m against the war in principle (NOT the troops), I must admit that I m starting to believe that it s probably better than " cowering"  and waiting for the next 9/11 catastrophe.

A good offense is better than a bad defense (or something like that).
