I figured it s about time for us to start thinking about this years plans (warm weather does this). When I e-mailed the park service about our plans, this was his response.

Ian,
#1.The park policy will remain first come, first served for the next year.
We do allow three camping units per site and several local campers for your
group could set and pay for your sites earlier and add one or two other rigs
as the others come in or fill any other open sites that would be near. All
camping units will be charged all fees applicable at that site for the time
they are there.
#2.We are on a winter schedule for facilities now until approximately April
15, weather and budget allowing.
Quail Run will be open with a water spigot at the front of the loop and
electric in the sites. Scott Creek is open with electrical and water to each
campsite. All toilet facilities are pit type. All shower buildings are closed
until mid April.
Opening of facilities this year may be hampered by budget more than weather.
We are hoping to be able to have everything open around April 15.Thank you.
The shower thing doesn t bother me (wouldn t be the first time I washed up in a basin). Anyone have date they want to do this? They do have a policy you have to get a pass for your vehicle. Think it s like $5/day, or like $32/yr. The campsite was like $16/day for all hookups if I remember right. Thoughts, comments?
rednekrubbrduckOk, I admit I tend to get grumpy without a shower but we do have a portable shower, just have to figure out the grey water issue but we have time to figure something out.
I thought we said the 3rd weekend of March but now I m not sure and since we can t see the old posts yet??? The 3rd weekend is better for us because we have to camp with the scouts the first weekend of Apr., but we re flexible.
Shell was excited about going to KS, (going out of state) & Katie s just ready, she s always ready, she asks about camping almost as much as how soon until Santa comes. [:D]
rednekrubbrduckI think you re right on this one Linda..the 3rd weekend sounds about right to me. I don t think it ll be all that busy there at that time of the year..so hopefully sites will be readily available.
