Took out our new Bayside last weekend to the Del Mar beach in San Diego. I bought it last September, but have been off to Kuwait/Iraq in the meantime. It s great to be home. My wife and I are moving to North Carolina from Arizona in August, so are planning a huge campig trip at the moment - 7-26 August to see America. Two things that bothered me from the weekend
1. The door keeps slamming shut - anybody have a smart way to dampen that sound?
2. The drain from the sink needs some sort of system to collect the water for easy disposal. Can anyone clue me in on this?.

SplinterWelcome back, Hope you had a good tour, [: (]
Thank You!
As far as water containment goes, check out my website, I use one of the blue cantainers from Wal-Mart. Lots of us use them.
As far as the door goes, that s the way it is. i thought about adding a small strip of foam, or the soft side of a piece of velcro (sticky backed) but haven t done that yet.
SplinterWelcome home and thanks for your service!

1. That is the sound of a Coleman. All the doors slam like that. I also have thought about adding felt or faom to the jamb but was afraid it would then be hard to get the door to latch.
2. You are talking about gray (grey) water. There are many ways to collect it. Check out my [link=http://www.title-3.com/GrayWater.htm]Gray Water Containment Tank Page[/link]
Again, welcome home
SplinterAh, the sound of the Coleman slam! You always know where a Coleman is by that signature sound.....
As for grey water, we use two 7 gallon Blue Boys from Walmart.

To help solve our problem with the slamming of the door we put those round felt thing that have sticky tape on one side.(Sorry can t remember what they are called but can be found at most hardware store s)They use them on kitchen cabinet s as well.
For the gray water we use a 22 gallon blue tote for no sewer hookup s and a regular 3/4" garden hose for hookup s.Take a look at my MOD S PICTURE.Just click on the webshot s link below.

As everyone says the door slamming is a standard Coleman door.
I have 2 five gallon blue drain water tanks that I use to collect the water. I like the smaller size tanks because I can carry them easily and I use 2 of them so that when one is full I don t have to stop and take the tank to the dump station. I just switch tanks and dump them when it is convenient. Some people use the collapsible 5 gallon tanks. They don t take up much room.
SplinterThanks for the help with the grey water and door.
Also - appreciate all the thank you s. I Look forward to coming here often.
